Serdang, 29 April 2026 – The Human Resource Development Division, Registrar’s Office, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised the Seminar on the Appreciation of Integrity, Values and Service Ethics at the Auditorium Radin Umar, Faculty of Engineering, UPM. The seminar successfully gathered a total of 253 participants comprising various positions and service schemes within the university.
The seminar aimed to strengthen the appreciation of integrity, values and work ethics among the UPM community in line with the university’s aspiration to produce a professional, accountable and competitive workforce.
In his welcoming remarks, Hisyamuddin Hashim, Head of the Human Resource Development Division, Registrar’s Office, emphasised that integrity is the main foundation in cultivating an excellent work culture and enhancing public confidence in the quality of public service delivery. He also urged all university staff to continuously practise the values of trustworthiness, responsibility and ethics in carrying out their daily duties to ensure the organisation’s excellence can be sustained continuously.
The seminar continued with a sharing session by Milah binti Rabun, Deputy Director of the Integrity Unit, Public Service Department. During the session, she shared her views on the importance of appreciating integrity in the implementation of daily tasks, while also discussing current challenges in ensuring compliance with the values and ethics of public service.
In the afternoon session, the seminar continued with a presentation by Azizi bin Ismail, Head of the Governance and Integrity Division, Registrar’s Office, titled “Integrity: A Reflection of an Employee’s Character”. He stressed that integrity is not merely about compliance with rules and work procedures, but also reflects an individual’s character, attitude and values within an organisation.
Throughout the seminar, participants demonstrated strong commitment and active involvement in the knowledge-sharing sessions and discussions conducted. The organisation of such programmes is expected to enhance awareness and strengthen the culture of integrity among the UPM community, thereby contributing to the university’s overall excellence.
Overall, the seminar was one of the university’s important initiatives in its continuous efforts to cultivate integrity, professionalism and good governance among staff, in line with the aspiration of a high-performing, ethical and excellence-oriented public service.
