RULING TO WORK FROM HOME AND WORK FROM THE OFFICE OF UNIVERSITI PUTRA MALAYSIA

Registrar's Office, Serdang - University Management Committee, Universiti Putra Malaysia has considered the issue of application to work in WFH from officers who have children who are still in school and aged 12 years and below and children with disabilities. Therefore, the Management Committee has made the following decision:
(1) In principle, all officers have to work by WFO every working day as the school / kindergarten / nursery has re-operated.
(2) In isolated cases where the school / kindergarten / nursery is still closed or rotates, the officer may submit a WFH application for the period in which the child is unable to attend the school / kindergarten / nursery and has no guardian subject to the following:
(a) All applications to work in WFH must be submitted for the approval of the Registrar after obtaining the support of the Head of PTJ.
(b) Application to work in WFH should be made after the officer tries to find alternatives and solutions related to childcare who can not attend the school / kindergarten / nursery and do not have a guardian but still can not find a solution.
(c) Applications to work in WFH must be accompanied by proof that the school / kindergarten / nursery is still closed or practicing rotation as well as officers applying to make a certificate on the validity of the information provided.
(d) Officers who are given WFH flexibility are only allowed for WFH for the period that their child is unable to attend school / nursery / kindergarten due to closure or rotation. For example: If the 11-year-old officer's child attends regular school in the morning session and religious school in the afternoon session and the religious school has not reopened, then the officer must be present to work by WFO in the morning and work by WFH in the evening. The officer can be requested by the Head of Department to come to the office from 7.30 am in lieu of flexion time to increase WFO working hours that day.
This resolution is effective immediately and the special flexibility of working on a WFH basis will be reviewed depending on the circumstances and regulations of the Government regarding PKPP from time to time.
