Misconduct and Negative Traits

All UPM staf must perform their duties skillfully, strive to enhance their services and continuously improve their performance, giving priority to the clients and to work together as a team for the success and well-being of the university.

Listed below is a list of misconduct and negative traits that should be avoided by all Universiti Putra Malaysia staff in carrying out their duties:

  1. Not adhering to the pre-determined principles and ethical values;
  2. Neglecting their duties and responsibilities;
  3. Missing deadlines;
  4. Inconsiderate and Selfish;
  5. Complacent;
  6. Enjoy making non-constructive criticism;
  7. Egocentric and self centred;
  8. Vengeful and envious;
  9. Breach of trust;
  10. Short tempered and impatient;
  11. Condescending and belittling the work of others;
  12. Patronising others for one’s gains;
  13. Greed for power and status;
  14. Backbiting and slandering;
  15. Arrogant and boastful;
  16. Not transparent in one’s action;
  17. Not appreciative of time;
  18. Not cooperative;  and
  19. Receiving bribes.
